If you wish to use your insurance benefits, please be aware that you are responsible for confirming benefit coverage with your insurance company prior to your first appointment (phone number is typically on the back of your card). Insurance may cover some or all of your session costs. Costs that are not covered by your insurance will be your responsibility. Specifically, you may want to ask the following:

-Is this therapist in-network? If not, does my plan cover out-of-network therapists?

-Do I have a co-pay and how much is it?

-Do I have a deducible and has it been met yet?

-Does my plan cover outpatient mental health counseling?

  • If you do not want to use insurance you can pay for sessions through credit card, debit card, or HSA account. I charge $150 per session. A sliding scale is available on a case-by-case basis. Each client is required to keep a credit card on file.

  • You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

    • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

    • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

    • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

    • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).

  • If a session is missed without any notice OR cancelled less than 24-hours before the scheduled session time, you will be charged a $50 cancellation fee.

Please keep in mind that you have the ability manage your appointments through your therapy portal. If you have a chronic illness, disability, or barrier that may prevent you from giving adequate notice of cancelling, please discuss this with me so we can troubleshoot and prevent recurrent charges.
